Lane Closures Begin on I-95 in Philadelphia

Lane closures began Sunday night in Philadelphia due to construction at the Girard Avenue and Cottman Avenue interchanges. The work is part of several projects rebuilding the interchanges and adjoining sections of I-95.

The following closures will take place at the following times:

March 15-March 21: I-95 North will be reduced from three lanes to two from 10 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following morning between the Bridge Street and Cottman Avenue interchanges for construction in the median-area work zone.

March 16: I-95 south will be reduced from three lanes to one between Palmer and Shackamaxon streets, located just south of the Girard Avenue Interchange, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday (March 17) for routine testing of the new concrete pavement.

March 20: I-95 north will be reduced from three lanes to one approaching the Girard Avenue Interchange from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Saturday (Mar 21) as crews erect beams for the center section of the I-95 bridge over Columbia Avenue.
