Labor Day Weekend Weather

Expect cooler weather during the last weekend of summer.

Even though it may look like rain only a brief light shower is possible and that will be mainly south and east of the city.  The main story is the clouds and the wind.

The east wind is making for cooler beach days for the final 2 days of the summer. In the surf there is a high risk of rip currents, waves reaching 6 feet in height, and a small craft advisory through Tuesday.  The wind will continue to gust near 25 mph on Labor Day so despite the warm water, pay attention to life guards and obey any swimming restrictions.

After the holiday there is a storm developing of the coast of the Carolinas that will bring rain up the coast on Tuesday.

The heaviest rain will be south and east of the city.  The big question is for after Tuesday is how quick the storm will move out.  A few forecasts are keeping the storm close and that would mean more rain, wind, and cool weather through the end of the week. Looks like the trend is for it to begin to move east though by Thursday as warmer air returns.
