Kiddie Brawl Videotaped on Chester County Street Corner

Coatesville police are investigating possible charges after a violent fight between two kids was posted online.

Two young boys were encouraged by a group of adults to engage in a videotaped brawl on a street corner in Coatesville, Pa.

An NBC10 viewer tipped us off to the video, which was posted on a public Facebook page.

In the video, you can hear the adults telling the kids, who appear to be around seven or eight years old, to "put your hands up" while cheering them on. One of the boys seems reluctant to fight. You can see an adult appear to shove him back into the brawl.

The young boys fight it out until one takes a hard blow, has trouble standing and starts to cry.

"When you watch that video raw like that it turns your stomach and is upsetting,” said Marty Eggleston, community activist from Coatesville.

NBC10 went to the corner where the fight took place, at 5th and Olive in Coatesville, but not many people there were willing to talk.

Coatesville police say they've opened up an investigation into the video.

“I think that we’re going to have to look into this and get down to the bottom of this so it doesn’t occur any longer,” said Detective Shawn Dowds, Coatesville Police Department.

Police say the District Attorney's office will be consulted on whether or not any charges will be filed.

We reached out to the person whose name was listed on the Facebook page where the video was posted. At the time of publication, we had not heard back from them, but the video had been taken down.
