Jon: β€œAbsolutely” No More Reality TV

Kate a no-show in court, Jon talks about effects of the divorce on the kids

Jon Gosselin says his future in reality television is over.

Speaking to throngs of reporters outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, Pa. Monday, the octodad opened up about the effect his divorce will have on the kids, a lack of communication with Kate and his future in TV.

"I absolutely will not do any more reality TV in the future," Gosselin said.

He was in court hoping to learn what Kate did with $33,000 from the couple's joint bank account. But instead of facing his estranged wife, he heard from her lawyer.

"I would just like to plead with her to communicate with me better on the telephone or in person, not through text or email," Gosselin said.

Kate, who attended a book signing in lieu of court, was blasted by Jon's attorney -- in a rather bizarre way -- for failing to show.

"Kate Gosselin reminds me of the Lady Who Lived in a Shoe that had so many children she didn't know what to do," said Jon's attorney Mark Heller.

"Jon Gosselin has met all of the obligations he was required to make," Heller said. You may remember that Jon was ordered to return $180,000 in funds he removed from the couple's account earlier this month. "The obligations that Kate Gosselin has were not fulfilled. Maybe that explains why she didn't appear in court today."

Jon said he would like to attend therapy with Kate to figure out how to explain the circus to the kids.

"Our divorce could end next month or the month after and I don't think either of us are prepared to explain to our children what has happened," Gosselin said.

As for their children, Gosselin says they don’t know that mom and dad go to court, but that it'll be hard to determine what long-term effects the divorce will have.

"My parents got divorced and I didn't realize it affected me until I was like 30," he said. "All you can do is be the best parent you can be, love your kids, spend time with them and that's all we can do as any parent."

"Today, I'm going home to be a father."
