A woman fought off a man trying to rob her while she jogged near a South Jersey high school Thursday evening.
Galloway Township Police rushed to the area of Wrangleboro Road and High School Drive – that’s a short distance from Absegami High School – around 5:45 after receiving a 911 call about an attack on a woman jogging in the area.
The jogger – a 26-year-old from Galloway – was jogging when a man attacked her from behind and tried to grab her cellphone, said police. The woman fought off her attacker but in the process was thrown to the ground, causing minor injuries, said police.
Shortly after arriving, police located Tyrone Decker Jr. nearby. The 25-year-old Atlantic City resident matched the description of the woman’s attacker, said police.
Police charged Decker with robbery and criminal mischief and a judge sent him to Atlantic County jail on $75,000 bail.
