“Jersey Shore” Goes on Strike: TMZ

Cast refuses to shoot amidst contract disputes

There were no fist pumps, Ed Hardy T-shirts or tanning in Seaside Heights, N.J. this weekend.

Well, there probably was -- the cast of MTV’s hit Jersey Shore just wasn’t doing it.

The Situation, JWoww, Snooki and company refused to shoot scenes over the weekend for the upcoming third season amidst contract disputes, sources told TMZ:

The cast was supposed to begin shooting "at home" scenes (Monday) for Season 3, but we're told JWoww , Ronnie, Sammi, Pauly D and Vinny -- who are spread out between New York and Rhode Island -- told the crews they weren't shooting without new contracts.

The Situation and Snooki are supposed to shoot tomorrow, and we're told Snooki plans to do the same. No word yet on The Situation, but as we first reported... he's having contract issues of his own.

Sources close to the show tell TMZ the cast feels they can make more money doing appearances for two months, rather than filming the show.

So could this derail Season 3 before Season 2 even starts to air next week?

It isn’t clear but TMZ said that 150 crew were ready and waiting for the reality stars to show up in Seaside Heights.

And, all this strike talk has producers talking about possibly canning the cast, reported TMZ.
