Police in the town that was the setting for MTV's Jersey Shore arrested a mayor from a neighboring town over the weekend.
Seaside Park Mayor Thomas Connors and his two adult children face charges stemming from a weekend incident at a Seaside Heights bar
The whole thing went down inside and outside of Hemingway's Cafe, according to the Asbury Park Press.
Connors was charged with disorderly conduct after police said he began to interfere as they were arresting his son and daughter.
Police are investigating what led to the Connors' ejection from the bar, saying it may have involved an assault on the mayor. A former councilman says Connors was defending his daughter who was being hassled inside the bar.
Connors predicts he'll be exonerated when all the facts become known.
