Italian-American Group Calls for VH1's “Friggin' Wedding” Show to End

“My Big Friggin’ Wedding” another reality show to offend some Italian-Americans

An Italian-American group is calling for VH1 to pull the plug on its show "My Big Friggin’ Wedding."

UNICO National says the show is a "big racist stereotype of Italian-Americans." The group’s Andre DiMino says if VH1 doesn't respond, he’ll start contacting advertisers with the organization's complaints.

Several of the cast members on the reality show about couples making wedding plans are Italian-American. The show began airing last month.

Neither VH1 nor 495 Productions, which makes the show, had an immediate response.

Fairfield, N.J.-based UNICO previously protested "Jersey Shore" and "The Sopranos" for similar reasons.

In the case of “Jersey Shore,” producers cut back on shots of the Italian flag and references to cast members as “guidos.”
