Irish Man Pulled From Plane Pleads in Hit-and-Run

Man who tried to flee the country after striking an Upper Darby woman pleads guilty

An Irish citizen who investigators say was trying to flee the country following a hit-and-run crash pleaded guilty to charges in suburban Philadelphia.

Damian Crossan, 28, pleaded guilty Monday to a pair of third-degree felonies stemming from the Feb. 2 crash that injured a woman in Upper Darby, the Delaware County Times reports.

Crossan, who was living in Drexel Hill, was arrested several days later on board a flight that was departing for Ireland from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. He had been living in the U.S. for five years, reports the Delaware County Times.

The woman that Crossan struck was 32-year-old Jaime Timlin of Upper Darby. She was walking along Cedar Lane near Beverly Boulevard in Upper Darby at 11:18 p.m. on Feb. 2, reports the Delco Times.

Timlin was treated for her injuries.

Common Pleas Court Judge Gregory Mallon says each of the felonies carry maximum sentences of seven years in prison.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 11.

Mallon says an immigration detainer is pending for Crossan.
