Impromptu Carpenters Union Protest Blocks Broad Street

Hundreds of people blocked Broad Street in Center City Philadelphia Saturday afternoon, all part of an impromptu rally by the Metropolitan Regional Council of Carpenters.

Union members began marching around City Hall around 11 a.m. to draw attention to the carpenters' ongoing negotiations with the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The rally eventually blocked motorists from driving on Broad Street.

The union members have been blocked from working in the Convention Center, which is located along Arch Street between 11th and Broad Streets, due to the dispute.
