A registered sex offender was charged Thursday with raping a 9-year-old girl.
Joshua Honan of the 200 block of N Marshal Street in Newport was charged with eight counts of rape and unlawful sexual conduct against a child by a sex offender.
Honan, 25, allegedly sexually abused the girl on at least five occasions.
He is being held on post $454,000 cash bail.
Honan had an outstanding warrant issued by Wilmington Police for failing to re-register to Megan’s Law three days after moving to a new address, New Castle County Police said.
Officers tracked down Honan and after extensive interviews police confirmed Honan's involvement and he was arrested, police said.
