Holy Family Gets New Basketball Coach

Two days after the player - who got former coach to resign - was arrested, new coach comes in

Holy Family University has named a new men's basketball coach to replace John O'Connor, who resigned in February after a videotaped conflict with a former player at practice.

The new coach's arrival comes a month-and-a-half after the former coach resigned amid controversy, and two days after the player who accused the former coach of assault was arrested on felony charges.

The private school in Philadelphia announced Friday that it has named R.C. Kehoe as the new coach. Kehoe recently finished his fifth season as an assistant with the Delaware men's hoops team.

O'Connor resigned shortly before the team's season finale in February.

The resignation came after a video surfaced on the Internet showing O'Connor pushing former player Matt Kravchuk at practice, knocking him to the floor and then kicking him while he was down.

Kravchuk left the team and sought criminal charges against his former coach, but prosecutors declined to file charges.

On Wednesday, 20-year-old Kravchuk was arrested on felony theft charges after he allegedly stole drinks from a Citizens Bank Park concession stand. He faces felony charges because of previous offenses, authorities said.
