Headless Body Result of Suicidal Hanging: ME

Body identified as Main Line trainer Gerald Christopher

The headless body found in a Delaware County creek Wednesday has been identified as that of a Main Line personal trainer, police say.

Gerald Christopher hanged himself from a tree branch with a pool hose, according to the Delaware County Medical Examiner.

Christopher's body was found in Crum Creek, and his head with a noose nearby were found on the banks of the creek in Nether Providence. Neighbors in a nearby condominium complex made the discovery the day after police went public with his peculiar missing-person case.

Christopher, of Radnor, disappeared on June 1. His fiancé, Roxy Merat, said he'd been acting irrational right before he went missing.

"He was acting paranoid," Merat said. "He was saying that people were following him and that he was in danger."

Christopher, 45, was a beloved personal trainer who ran a private gym, Deep Cuts Fit, in Wayne, Pa.

"He said that some people were after him, that it was the end of the world; something big was going to happen," Merat said earlier this week. Christopher left all his personal belongings behind the morning he went missing, along with a note to Merat her know he loved her, but had to leave.
