Suspect Surrenders, Manhunt Ends After Police Car Shot

Police in Pennsylvania's capital say a suspect in a shooting that damaged a patrol car has surrendered and ended a two-day manhunt after talking on the phone with the police chief.

Shawn McCoy was charged Thursday with robbery, assault of a law enforcement officer and other offenses in the shooting early Wednesday in Harrisburg.

The 20-year-old is jailed in lieu of $1 million bail pending an April 17 hearing.

Police say McCoy fired shots at six different locations as officers responded to a robbery call. No one was injured.

Police Chief Tom Carter tells WHTM-TV  McCoy called his cell phone before surrendering and said he was scared police would shoot him. Carter told him that wouldn't happen.

Police arrested suspects 25-year-old Yusef Chandler-Blake and 24-year-old Sharyne Cook on Wednesday.
