Harrah's to Drop Chester From Name

The casino has decided to do some re-branding to make the casino more of a regional destination

Harrah's Casino is saying goodbye to Chester. But they aren't leaving the city.

The casino has decided to change the name from "Harrah's Chester Casino and Racetrack" to "Harrah's Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack," according to an article in the Delaware County Times.

Harrah's General manager Ron Baumann told the newspaper that the name change is part of re-branding effort to make the casino more of a regional destination.

Chester Mayor John Linder says at first he was upset when he heard about the change, but after talking with Baumann he told the Delaware County Times that he understands the decision was a business move that will give the casino more exposure to people visiting from out of the area.
