Gunman Robs Women After Meeting Them Online: Cops

Police are searching for a man who they say robbed three women after meeting them online.

Police say the first incident happened Sunday around 1 a.m. at the Comfort Inn in Newark, Delaware. A 22-year-old woman contacted a man through an online social network for a prearranged meeting, according to investigators. Police say the suspect arrived at the Comfort Inn and met with the woman inside a motel room. The suspect then allegedly displayed a handgun, demanded money and then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the woman before fleeing on foot.

Police say the second incident happened around 1:45 a.m. at the Econo Lodge in Newark, Delaware. The same suspect allegedly met an 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old woman he had contacted through an online social network. The man arrived at the lodge and met the two women in a room, according to investigators. He allegedly displayed a gun, demanded money and then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the women before fleeing on foot.

No one was injured in either incident, according to police. The suspect is described as a white male, between 20 and 25 years of age, standing 5-foot-9 and weighing between 200 to 220 pounds.
