Guard Gives Prisoner Women's Addresses

Corrections officer gave a male prisoner the names and addresses of former female inmates

A Montgomery County corrections officer gave a male prisoner the names and addresses of “hot” female inmates that were discharged, says District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.

William Maute, a corrections officer at Montgomery County Correctional Facility, was arrested on charges of unlawful use of a computer, unlawful duplication, computer trespass and disorderly conduct, according to Ferman.

The charges came after a woman, who served 48 hours in the Montgomery County jail for a DUI in March, reported getting strange letters and calls from a male inmate, sources say. The woman’s report sparked an internal investigation, says Ferman.

Maute, who lives on Skippack Pike, confessed to investigators that he provided inmate John Valdez with personal information and home addresses of at least six women who spent time in the correctional facility, court documents state.

Only one woman came forward to make a complaint.

The prison guard accessed the women’s information through a computer at the correctional facility, according to the district attorney’s office.
