Graffiti Spree in Cumberland County

Vandals deface homes, garages and buildings in Bridgeton, NJ

A Cumberland County community is hit by vandals and not for the first time. The recent spray-painted graffiti includes gang slogans and expletives, scrawled on homes, garages, buildings and sidewalks.

Police in Bridgeton say 10 spots on Irving and Lakeview Avenues were hit Monday night.  Residents insist vandalism is a constant problem and tell NBC10 some of the places tagged this week have been hit in the past.

"Everybody just got done repainting everything over the old graffiti and they came back and did it all over again" said victim Randy Parisi.

Despite the gang-related markings, police say they're not sure if gang members are actually responsible for the vandalism.

NBC10 reached out to Bridgeton's mayor. He says the city will help those affected by the vandalism and even provide paint for them to cover up the graffiti.
