Good Samaritan Pulls NJ Woman From Burning Car

The 71-year-old Manahawkin woman was trapped in her burning overturned vehicle.

Police say a good samaritan saved the life of an elderly woman trapped in her burning car in Pemberton Township, New Jersey Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators say 71-year-old Joan Seely of Manahawkin was driving east on Magnolia Road when she crossed into the westbound lane, onto the shoulder and into a utility pole.

The impact caused Seely's car to flip multiple times before coming to a stop on its roof, according to police.

The victim was trapped inside her burning vehicle when another motorist, Bryan Degraw, cut her seatbelt and carried her to safety, investigators said.

Seely is being treated at Cooper Trauma Center. Her condition is unknown.

Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
