A Pennsylvania lawmaker's bill that would create a specialty license plate adding the words "In God We Trust" has been approved by the house and will head to the senate for final approval.
Rep. John Payne says that House Bill 149 would make the specialty plate available for a $20 fee, on top of the normal vehicle registration fees. He said that a constituent pointed out a similar plate in South Carolina and noted Pennsylvania's long religious history as a reason for having a similar plate.
WPMT reports that If the senate approves the bill, the plate would be available be through PennDOT.
