Go Home With Eagles Star QB Carson Wentz

Explore the quarterback's humble North Dakotan roots in a special presentation "From Wentz He Came" on Friday at 7 p.m.

He may be the most popular person to grace Philadelphia since Ben Franklin, but at heart Eagles star quarterback Carson Wentz is really just a humble guy from North Dakota.

A true Midwesterner who loves his family and faith, Wentz is a hero in the City of Brotherly Love, but he’s a god in Bismarck.

NBC10 and CSN traveled to Carson Country earlier this month to explore Wentz’s roots -- speaking with family, friends and coaches.

From the time he was just a boy, they remember him as a quiet, yet determined kid who loved to play football and hated to lose a game.

On Friday at 7 p.m., CSN’s John Clark will take you inside Wentz world in a half-hour special program "From Wentz He Came."

Shot during the Eagles’ bye week, you’ll visit Wentz’ alma mater, Century High School, and see him honored during a homecoming game at North Dakota State University in Fargo.

“Carson Wentz is the pride of the entire state of North Dakota which is why they have adopted the Philadelphia Eagles as their team,” said Anzio Williams, Vice President of News for NBC10 and Telemundo62. “Through this news special, NBC10 and CSN brings Eagles and Carson Wentz fans an exclusive look at his roots through one-on-one videos with the people that know him best.”

You’ll be able to watch “From Wentz He Came” on NBC10, NBC10.com and CSN starting Friday night at 7 p.m. The special will be available on demand on the NBC10 app following the premiere. It will also be re-aired on TV several times over the coming weeks.

Fans will also be able explore exclusive content, stories and interviews that were not included in the special within a special section on NBC10.com and the NBC10 app.
