After weeks of recovery and plenty of well wishes from viewers, NBC10 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Hurricane Schwartz is set to make his return next week.

NBC10 cameras were right there with Glenn as Lankenau Hospital cardiologist Dr. James Burke gave him the okay to go back to work next Monday.

Glenn underwent double bypass heart surgery on April 25 after doctors discovered two blocked arteries, including the main artery supplying blood to his heart.

Dr. Burke says Glenn has recovered faster than most because he was in good physical shape before the surgery.

“Based on his clinical picture and his electrocardiogram and his examination he feels well,” said Dr. Burke. “I think we’re ready to cut him loose and let him get back to work next week.”

“I feel great,” said Glenn. “I got the news that I was expecting because I do feel like I’m ready to go back to driving and go back to work. I have more and more energy all the time.”

Glenn will continue with cardiac rehab three times a week while working part time with NBC10.
