Gas Station Clerk Abducted in City Ave Robbery

A man entered the Sunoco on City Ave. and Conshohocken State Rd. around 4:15 a.m.

A gas station clerk was abducted during a robbery at a Sunoco A-Plus on City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd, according to Lower Merion Police.

Investigators say a man entered the store on Conshohocken State Road and City Avenue around 4:15 Wednesday morning.

After robbing the store, he forced the employee into a vehicle and took off, police tell NBC10. They say he later dropped the employee off on Henry Avenue in Northwest Philadelphia.

Police located the employee and returned him to the store for questioning.

Police are looking for the man. He is described as a black male, 6-feet tall and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, basketball shorts and a black baseball hat with a gray bill on the front.

They say he was driving a white sedan, possibly a Ford, with Pennsylvania tags. Police were able to get the beginning of the tag numbers -- HNN 97.

It's unknown what was taken from the store or if the suspect was armed at the time of the alleged abduction.

Police are reviewing surveillance video.
