Garces' Rosa Blanca Shuts Its Doors for Good

Chef Jose Garces no longer plans to reopen one of his Old City restaurants after closing it last summer for a rebrand.

The Garces Group on May 31 last year closed the Cuban- and Caribbean-inspired Rosa Blanca restaurant at 707 Chestnut St. in order to reopen it as a café.

The target reopening date was last fall, but now plans have been canceled altogether following the sale of the building to Cross Properties late last year, according to Larry Steinberg, senior vice president at CBRE, which is marketing the space for the developer.
