Philly International Makes Pet Travel Easy

Philadelphia International Airport makes it easy and convenient to take your pooch on vacation. In fact, it's one of the nation's top 10 “pet friendly airports” according to Tripswithpets.com and Travelplaninfo.com ranks us at No. 3!

Philadelphia International Airport has seven Pet Port stations. These pet areas are used for animals to get a drink of water, stretch out their legs and take a potty break.

Pet owners are also allowed to visit or reconnect with their pet while waiting for their connecting flight.

“Providing suitable facilities for animals is not only necessary, but it lets people know that the airport is attentive to their concerns over traveling with animals,” said Airport CEO Mark Gale in a press release. “People traveling with pets and service animals are not only pleased with our pet relief areas but also happy to know that this is a pet friendly airport.”

The Pet Ports are located nearby both the departures and arrivals road. The pet areas range in size from 250 to 600 square feet. They are equipped with a fence, mulch, faux fire hydrant, and biodegradable pet waste bag dispenser.

Next time you book a flight out of Philly take your four-legged companion with you!
