Funeral Services Set for Boy Dragged to Death

Attorney General’s office expected to charge driver

Family members of a young boy who was killed while riding his electric scooter on a Wilmington street will be laid to rest Saturday.

Funeral services will be held for Tommy White, Jr. at 9 a.m. at the St. Paul’s United African Methodist Episcopal Church at 32nd and Market Streets.

Tommy was killed last Saturday when he was riding on his scooter and struck by a car. He was dragged underneath it for five blocks.

Neighbors tried frantically to pull the car off the body but he died at the scene from severe head injuries.

The teen driver, who never stopped, is expected to face charges in the case, according to officials.
