Restaurant Robbery Brings Police to Major Delaware County Intersection

A large police presence could be seen after an armed robbery at a Delaware County Friendly’s restaurant.

Someone held up the restaurant at Painters’ Crossing near the intersection of Baltimore Pike (U.S. Route 1) and Wilmington Pike (U.S. Route 202) in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania shortly before 11 a.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Investigators didn’t reveal any details about the suspect or suspects that took an undisclosed amount of money from the chain restaurant. Witnesses reported seeing eight to nine police vehicles -- some state police cruisers -- and police helicopters scouring the area following the heist.

Despite the large police presence, police said no one was arrested.

No one was hurt.

Police quickly cleared the scene.
