A New Castle County man, who impersonated Santa Claus and was a foster parent to dozens of children, was arrested for possessing hundreds of pictures involving children involved in sex acts, according to police.
The New Castle County Police Department and the Delaware Child Predator Task Force arrested and charged Steven Hughes, 52, with 10 counts of using a computer to unlawfully depict children in a prohibited sexual act.
Hughes was arrested in his Newark, DE home after a two-week undercover investigation.
According to investigators Hughes spent most of his career and life around children. He was a foster parent to more than 100 children who were placed in his home over a 15-year period.
Hughes also operates Studio H Photography, a photography studio that specializes in children’s photographs.
Hughes is being held on a $300,000 cash bail and investigators said that there is no indication that he acted in appropriately or took any of those pictures.
