From Football to Paint Brush: Former Eagles Player Going Mobile With New Business

A former Philadelphia Eagle put down the football and picked up a paint brush for his next business venture, and he and his wife are going mobile with it.

William "Tra" Thomas played for the Eagles from 1998 until 2008. Thomas rejoined the team years later in a coaching capacity, and has also opened and closed a gym in Medford, Burlington County.

His next business endeavor will be with a company called Pinot's Palette, a Houston-based paint-and-sip franchise that has eyed the Philadelphia region as part of its aggressive nationwide expansion.

Thomas and wife Rosa Thomas in March signed a franchise agreement with Pinot's Palette; they will be covering the South Jersey region.

Getting into the paint-and-sip space was a natural progression for the South Jersey residents — it was an activity they enjoyed, and that got them off their phones and allowed them to meet other adults, according to Rosa Thomas.

"It's full circle," she said. "When Tra played, he brought everyone enjoyment but brought himself a little bodily pain. When we owned the gym, he got enjoyment giving other people the pain, but this is enjoyment on both sides."
