Gunman Follows Victim From Philadelphia Corner Store, Opens Fire

Police searched for two suspects after they said a man was followed after leaving a convenience store and shot in Philadelphia.

The shooting occurred late Sunday night along Malvern Avenue in the city's Overbrook neighborhood.

The 21-year-old victim had left the Stop & Go store at 66th Street and Lansdowne Avenue just after 11 p.m. when he noticed two men following him, said police. The victim was approached by a man who fired five times with a handgun near the intersection of 66th and Malvern, Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

Shot twice in the hip, the victim was able to stumble to a nearby home and call for help, said Small.

The victim was listed in stable condition at Lankenau Hospital, said investigators.

Surveillance cameras possibly captured the incident, which was initially reported to have happened after the three left a bar.

"We don't believe the two perpetrators were with the victim," said Small.

Police sought two suspects. The victim described the shooter as being a man standing around 5-foot, 6-inches tall who has tattoos on his face, said Small.
