Alleged Flasher Indecently Assaults Women in S Philly

Man allegedly strikes 4 times in just 30 minutes

A South Philadelphia community was put on alert after the same man allegedly flashed and/or indecently assaulted four different women within a half hour Monday morning.

The alleged flasher apparently doesn’t have one particular type of woman he is targeting. Philadelphia Police report that the alleged victims range in age from 22 to 67 years old.

The first incident occurred around 8:55 a.m. Monday when a 22-year-old woman says a man approached her from behind and indecently assaulted her on the 1100 block of S 2nd Street. She turned around and the man ran off jumping into a car across Federal Street before driving off southbound, police said.

Fifteen minutes later a 27-year-old woman says a man indecently assaulted her as she walked along the 100 block of Ellsworth Street. She turned around to find the man exposed his genitals before he ran off, cops said.

Ten minutes later a 67-year-old woman walking down the 1800 block of S 10th Street says a man tried talking to her as he leaned against a car. She noticed his genitals were exposed and he was fondling himself, police said.

That woman immediately contacted police.

Five minutes later (9:25 a.m.) a 65-year-old woman sitting in front of her home on the 1800 block of S 9th Street says a man stopped and tried talking to her while he touched his genitals. She ran inside and also called the cops.

Police say the victims describe the suspect as a Latino man in his mid- to late-20s. He stands about 5-foot-5-inches to 5-foot-9-inches tall with dark hair.

In the one case he was seen driving a small dark-collared car with faded paint and a dent on the right rear side.

Police went to local businesses Tuesday morning to search for possible surveillance video, NBC10's Tim Furlong reported.

The investigation continued Tuesday morning. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Gage at 215-685-3263, 685-3252 or 685-3253. You can also submit a tip anonymously online.
