Fisherman's Body Pulled From River

State police say a body pulled from the Susquehanna River in northeastern Pennsylvania is that of a fisherman reported missing the day before.

Fifty-two-year-old Charles Remas, of West Pittston, was reported missing Monday when he didn't return from a fishing trip in Wyoming County.

Emergency crews started searching about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday and nearly five hours later found the man's empty boat on a riverbank southeast of Tunkhannock.

After learning Remas liked to fish for walleye near Camp Lackawanna, searchers found the body in the river near the campground in Mehoopany Township about 3 p.m. His car had been found nearly 12 hours earlier, about two miles away.

The man's cause of death was not immediately determined.
