Brush fire damaged at least 150 acres

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service and several area fire departments are battling a brush fire that's damaged at least 150 acres in an isolated area of southern New Jersey.

No injuries have been reported in Saturday's blaze in Barnegat. The fire was reported around 12:30 p.m. in a wooded area on the west side of Route 539 in the Ocean County community, which is about 30 miles north of Atlantic City.

Officials say few people live in the area, and no evacuations are expected. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
