A Philadelphia firefighter was taken to the hospital after being injured battling a fire in Spring Garden Monday night.
The fire broke out in a second floor apartment of a rowhome along the 1100 block of North Street around 8:00 p.m.
Huge flames could be seen shooting from the roof of the building as firefighters worked to keep the fire from spreading to adjacent homes. Unfortunately, they two other homes were unable to be spared.
One firefighter was taken to Hahnemann Hospital with minor injuries.
The fire was brought under control around 9:15 p.m. The Red Cross helping families affected by the blaze.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
