Police have accused a Clifton man of throwing lit firecrackers outside a Passaic synagogue while shouting "Allahu akbar."
A witness told police a car pulled in front of Ahavas Israel Synagogue on Saturday night, a man got out and set the firecrackers off while yelling the Arabic phrase for God is great.
Detective Andy White tells The Record newspaper police found the car and a bag of firecrackers in the trunk.
Officers charged 21-year-old Rizek Musheisen with bias intimidation, possession of fireworks, harassment and criminal mischief.
