2 Overnight Fires in Philly; 1 Hurt

One person was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in a West Philly cafe early Thursday, authorities said. Across the city, another blaze damaged a North Philly restaurant.

Crews responded to reports of smoke and flames at Cafe Renata along Locust Street between 43rd and 44th streets around 2 a.m., according to officials.

Fire fighters were on the scene of another blaze at the China Taste Restaurant at Broad Street and Erie Avenue around 12:30 a.m. No one was hurt.

Both properties have several apartments in the floors above the restaurant.
