Fire Destroys Historic Pa. Mansion

Fire has destroyed a historic mansion in northeastern Pennsylvania.

The mansion in Foster Township, Schuylkill County has been vacant for years and was undergoing renovations when it caught fire. No one was hurt.

The home was built around the turn of the 20th century by coal baron James B. Neale. A Virginia man bought the deteriorating mansion in 2012 and announced plans to make it livable again.

The Republican-Herald of Pottsville says crews were called to the house around 8 a.m. and found heavy smoke and fire.

It's unclear what started the fire.
