Feds: 2 Alleged Philly Mobsters Arrested

The arrests, announced Thursday, add 70-year-old Joseph Licata of Florham Park, N.J., and 45-year-old Louis Fazzini of Caldwell, N.J., to a group of 12 people who had been charged in May 2011

Federal prosecutors say two alleged members of the Philadelphia La Cosa Nostra crime family are facing charges under a new indictment in an ongoing investigation.

The arrests, announced Thursday, add 70-year-old Joseph Licata of Florham Park, N.J., and 45-year-old Louis Fazzini of Caldwell, N.J., to a group of 12 people who had been charged in May 2011.

The new indictment claims Joseph Ligambi, described by prosecutors as the organization's acting boss, got a "no show'' job with the Teamsters Health and Welfare Fund of Philadelphia and Vicinity that covered health benefits for him and members of his family.

Prosecutors say many of the defendants were involved in extortion, illegal gambling, witness tampering and theft.

They say Licata supervised Fazzini in northern New Jersey.
