Family Members Sentenced For Arranging Murder

A former third-grade teacher and her parents are in court together in Freehold, N.J., for their sentencing in the murder of the teacher's estranged husband.

Kathleen Dorsett admitted in May that she arranged the murder of Stephen Moore in the backyard of their Ocean Township home in 2010.

Her father, Thomas, also pleaded guilty to murder. Mother Lesley Dorsett admitted conspiring with her daughter to have Stephen Moore's mother killed before she could testify.

The first to be sentenced Thursday was the father, who got 45 years for his conviction on charges of murder and arson-for-hire.

In a 25-minute statement, Thomas Dorsett expressed sorrow but never looked at the victim's mother.

At their guilty pleas in May, the Dorsetts described how an acrimonious divorce battle spun out of control.
