Family Finds Foreigner Using Toilet

Police say the man flushed and washed his hands before surrendering

A man, visiting Western Pennsylvania from Belgium, is being fined after a trip to the bathroom.

That's because that bathroom was in a stranger's house.

36-year-old Pascal Dewilde, from the Brussels area, was visiting friends in Sewickley.

Police say he was dropped off after a night of drinking on Thanksgiving Eve, and wandered into the wrong house around 2:30 a.m., according to the Beaver County Times.

The family dialed 911 after seeing an intruder in their home. When officers arrived, Dewilde was on the toilet.

Although the Belgian man was an unwanted house guest, he did use proper bathroom etiquette.

Police say he flushed and washed his hands before surrendering.

Dewilde will now pay $877 in fines, for public drunkenness and trespassing.
