A construction project is set to begin Monday on the Falls Bridge over the Schuylkill River.
The bridge, which connects Martin Luther King Drive at Neill Drive to Kelly Drive at Calumet Street will be closed to vehicular traffic starting Monday though it will still be accessible for walkers, runners and bikers.
The project, which involves the rehabilitation and strengthening of the bridge’s steel floor beams and stringers, is scheduled to be completed by April 1. Detour signs will be posted around the bridge for alternate routes.
