Fallen Tree Knocks Down Wire, Sparks Philadelphia Car Fire

Two cars were engulfed in flames Monday morning in Philadelphia’s Francisville neighborhood after a fallen tree knocked down a power line, fire officials told NBC10.

Officials said electricity from the wire ignited the cars, which were parked in the 1700 block of Francis Street.

The fire is under control but approximately 1,700 PECO customers experienced power outages as a result of the accident, the utility said.
