FBI Joins Hunt for Kensington Strangler

It's a terrifying time for women in Kensington. The so-called Kensington Strangler is linked to two deaths and three other frightening assaults in the neighborhood, according to investigators. DNA connects the two deaths.

Now, the FBI has joined the search. Agents will create a profile of the attacker in the 5 linked cases. It will also provide forensic assistance to the investigation.

Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey and Captain James Clark held a press conference at police headquarters Wednesday morning.

Commissioner Ramsey urged every victim of violence to come forward, even if his or her attacker doesn't resemble the police sketch of the suspect.

And Captain Clark warned residents to be extra vigilant and to walk in pairs.

The Philadelphia Police Department is examining data as far back as 10 years for past sexual predators.

Police have confirmed that the most recent death in the area on Tuesday night is unrelated to the previous incidents.
