School's Out for Summer 2 Days Later in Philly

All that snow takes a toll on the school calendar

Harsh winter weather dumped feet of snow all Philly this winter and even though most of the snow piles are gone, the snow is still having an affect.

The School Reform Commission plans to add two days to the end of the Philadelphia School District calendar, making up for lost snow days.

The addition will make Tuesday, June 21 the last day of school for students and Wednesday, June 22 the last day for staff.

The SRC developed this provision last July, allowing make-up days to be added at the end of the academic year.

The School District of Philadelphia is asking parents and guardians to contact their child’s school administrator if they have any questions.
