A former Ivy League professor imprisoned for fatally bludgeoning his wife says he is not a violent person and deserves parole.
Rafael Robb tells The Philadelphia Inquirer in a story published Sunday that he is remorseful for the “horrific” crime.
Robb spoke to the newspaper last month at the western Pennsylvania prison where he's serving five to 10 years. It's his first interview since being sentenced in 2008.
He pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of 49-year-old Ellen Robb, who was fatally beaten as she wrapped Christmas presents in their suburban Philadelphia home.
In January, the state parole board rescinded its decision to free Robb just four days before he was to walk free.
The victim's brother tells the Inquirer that he doubts Robb feels remorse.
