Ex-Tow Contractor Pleads Not Guilty to New Indictment

A former northeastern Pennsylvania towing contractor has pleaded not guilty to firearms and bank fraud charges in a new indictment.

Leo Glodzik III had been scheduled to go on trial Monday in the bank fraud case, but instead was arraigned on charges in a superseding indictment obtained by federal prosecutors last week.

The amended charges include conspiracy to commit bank fraud, witness tampering and aiding and abetting bank fraud. A separate indictment charges him with firearms offenses.

Glodzik, 43, formerly had an exclusive towing contract with the city of Wilkes-Barre. He was convicted of a felony theft charge in Luzerne County court last spring. Prosecutors said he stole $2,100 in bait money from a car during an FBI sting operation. He was acquitted of theft from a motor vehicle.
