Ex-School Board President Guilty of Lunch Fraud

Jurors have found the former president of the Elizabeth School Board guilty of stealing from the district's free lunch program.

The panel found 49-year-old Marie Munn understated her household income, which exceeded the limit by as much as $100,000 in one year, by filing false applications for her two children.

Munn said she had repaid the school district after learning her children had received free lunches since 2006.

Munn's conviction of theft by deception and tampering with public records carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

She's scheduled to be sentenced on May 2.
