Ex-Principal Accused of Sex Assault on Student

Ex-Christian school principal faces sex charges

The former principal of a Berks County Christian school faces sex assault charges for allegedly carrying on a physical relationship with a student.

Former Berks Christian School principal Franklin Love surrendered to police on Monday and was arraigned on charges including institutional sexual assault and corruption of minors.

Investigators say Love, 39, had sexual contact with a 17-year-old girl who was a student at the school. Authorities say the affair was discovered after another student spotted text messages Love sent the girl during class.

Love resigned shortly after the alleged assaults came to light last month.

Love's attorney declined comment following his arraignment. County detectives say Love has admitted the relationship.

Bail is set at $25,000 unsecured bond, according to court documents.
