Ex-Police Chief Pleads Guilty to Child Porn

A former police chief in eastern Pennsylvania has pleaded guilty to a child porn charge.

Forty-four-year-old Robert Geist of Bedminster will be a registered sex offender for the next 15 years, after pleading guilty Monday in Bucks County Court to downloading child pornography.

Geist will be sentenced in about 60 days. He could be sentenced to more than a year in prison.

He is the former chief of the Brecknock Township Police Department in Berks County.

Geist was arrested last July after investigators traced files on a peer-to-peer sharing network to his home computer.

His attorney, Robert Goldman, said his client is seeing a therapist and is now working as a truck driver.
