Equipment Taken From Youth Philly Football Team

A Philadelphia youth football organization was cleaned out by thieves who broke into a storage trailer and made off with helmets, pads and uniforms.

Police say the thefts happened sometime over the weekend from a trailer where the Overbrook Monarchs kept their equipment.

The organization says the thieves also took concession stand equipment including coolers and deep fryers. The value of the lost equipment could be more than $20,000.

Monarchs president Sonny Moore says city political leaders have vowed to help the team replace the equipment. The teams are scheduled to begin practice on August 1.

Investigators say they're analyzing fingerprints taken from the scene.
